THE INFLUENCE YOU DON’T SEE

- Some of the most powerful things God is doing in your life… you can’t see yet.
Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Just because you don’t see the fruit now doesn’t mean God isn’t producing it.
#1) FAITHFUL INFLUENCE IS OFTEN UNSEEN
1 Samuel 1:12-13 (ESV)
12 As she continued praying before the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. 13 Hannah was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved, and her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli took her to be a drunken woman.
1 Samuel 1:14 (ESV)
And Eli said to her, “How long will you go on being drunk? Put your wine away from you.”
Just because no one applauds it doesn’t mean heaven ignores it.
- Some of the most powerful influence in your life is happening in places no one else sees.
Psalm 34:17 (ESV)
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
“Be still, and know that I am God…”
Invisible does not mean insignificant.
#2) GOD IS WORKING BEYOND YOUR CONTROL
Mark 4:26-27 (ESV)
26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. 27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how.
- God does some of His deepest work where you have the least visibility and the least control.
- There are things God is doing in people’s hearts that you cannot see yet.
You’re responsible for the sowing—God is responsible for the growing.
Isaiah 55:8–9 (ESV)
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Transformation doesn’t come from your perfection— It comes from God’s power.
Your role is faithfulness. God’s role is fruitfulness.
What Faithfulness to God Looks Like
SHOW UP — even when you don’t feel like it
STAY STEADY — even when life gets hard
SPEAK TRUE — even when it would be easier not to
SEE IT THROUGH — even when you’re tired
Luke 16:10 (NLT)
“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
- Remember… Just because you don’t see the fruit now doesn’t mean God isn’t producing it.
#3) YOUR INFLUENCE IS SHAPING A FUTURE YOU MAY NEVER SEE
2 Timothy 1:5 (ESV)
I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.
Your influence may not show up immediately—it may show up generationally.
Your greatest impact might be living in someone else’s future.
CONCLUSION
Salvation is not the result of perfect parenting, perfect influence, or perfect effort— It’s the result of a perfect Savior.
- Maybe today… this isn’t just a message about influence. Maybe for some of you, this is a moment of release.” Because you’ve been carrying things that were never yours to carry.
- Release the outcome… and renew your trust in God.
Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
The influence you don’t see yet… may be the impact that outlives you.
